Dear Colleagues,
To celebrate our tenth anniversary, we have developed a truly outstanding program. A special session will be entirely devoted to osteonecrosis of the jaw, a problematic issue that is having a number of repercussions. We will be discussing the World Health Organization initiative which is likely to revolutionize our approach to the management of osteoporosis. In addition we will be reviewing osteoporosis in men, low bone mass in premenopausal women, what to do with "non-responders to treatment," as well as the role of kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty. Naturally, we will continue with the very successful evidence-based approach to treatment when each medication is discussed separately, allowing ample time for questions and answers. We are also starting a new session: "Ask the Professors" during which any question on osteoporosis could be asked. Finally, we have been able to combine the academic and social to give more time for relaxed exchange with other attendees and faculty including a wine tasting reception at the start of the conference. I am very excited about our Tenth Annual Conference on Osteoporosis and look forward to seeing you in Amelia Island next February!
