OSHA RULES
The Federal Bloodborne Pathogen Standard requires all employers - even solo practitioners - of individuals with potential exposure to blood or infectious materials to have a written Exposure Control Plan. All “at risk” employees must be trained before beginning work and re-trained annually. Offices with hazardous materials on site also must have a written Hazard Communications Plan. Most medical offices need both.
The Southern Medical Association is pleased to announce the availability of physician/risk manager authored, easy-to-use compliance plans and do-it-yourself training programs, endorsed by more than 40 state and national medical organizations, are in use in thousands of private practices as well as many federal, state and county clinic. For do-it-yourself training, select either the 'kit' (includes trainer's manual, lecture aids, quiz, etc), or the CD (requires MS Power Point), which includes the above, plus 340 slides on: Infection Control, Hazard Communications and OSHA Inspections.
